Roof pitch app for iPhone and Android

Get Pitch Please for iPhone, iPad, or Android. Both platforms include Direct Mode, Camera Mode, calibration, Saved Pictures, and job-label annotation. Core measurement and saved-picture work runs offline with no account. Minimum versions are iOS or iPadOS 16.4 and Android 10; check the store for your device's compatibility.

The app is bought separately on each store. A purchase on one store does not carry to the other, because Apple and Google run separate storefronts.

Same two modes

Direct Mode reads device inclination by contact with the slope. Camera Mode displays the same sensor reading beside a fixed camera guide; it does not calculate roof geometry from the image. Both modes are on iPhone and Android.

Same units

Choose Imperial X:12 pitch with degrees or International percent slope with degrees in Settings. The app displays the selected system, one at a time.

Same saved photo

Camera Mode saves the photo with the guide line, the pitch or slope value, the degrees, and the stability state drawn on the image. Direct Mode saves the measurement screen.

Saved Pictures and job labels

Captures stay in the on-device Saved Pictures archive. Add job labels to an annotated copy, keep the original, and export for an estimate, inspection, or claim file.

Works offline, with no account

Measurement, capture, Saved Pictures, annotation, and in-app Help run on your device without an account or signal. When online, the app checks a public version file for update information. That request does not upload your measurements or pictures. Captures remain in the app archive, with a photo-library copy when permission is available.

The app asks for camera, photo library, and motion access when you first use those features. What each permission is used for is spelled out in the Pitch Please privacy policy.

Installing and getting the first reading

Install from the App Store or Google Play. Both listings are published by GDK Digital LLC.
Pick Direct Mode for a safely accessible contact surface. Camera Mode keeps a device reading and fixed guide with the roof photo; see its alignment limits.
Hold the phone in landscape. In Direct Mode lay the long edge along the fall of the roof; in Camera Mode move the phone until the fixed guide lies along the roof edge.
Wait for the stability indicator, read the pitch, and save the photo.
