Roof pitch app for iPhone and Android

One app, both stores, the same reading. Pitch Please measures roof pitch with the phone's own sensors and camera, needs no account, and works with no signal, on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later and on Android 10 or later.

The app is bought separately on each store. A purchase on one store does not carry to the other, because Apple and Google run separate storefronts.

Same two modes

Direct Mode rests the phone on the slope and reads the motion sensors. Camera Mode lines an on-screen guide up with the roof edge from the ground. Both are on iPhone and Android.

Same units

Imperial, the default, shows the pitch as X:12 with degrees. International switches to slope units. You pick one in Settings, on either platform.

Same saved photo

Camera Mode saves the photo with the guide line, the pitch or slope value, the degrees, and the stability state drawn on the image. Direct Mode saves the measurement screen.

Works offline, with no account

Everything that produces a reading happens on the device: the motion sensors, the camera, and the math. There is no sign-in, no GDK Digital account, and no server the measurement waits on, so a roof in a dead zone reads the same as a roof in town. Saved photos go to your own photo library, where you attach them to whatever the job needs.

The app asks for camera, photo library, and motion access when you first use those features. What each permission is used for is spelled out in the Pitch Please privacy policy.

Installing and getting the first reading

Install from the App Store or Google Play. Both listings are published by GDK Digital LLC.
Pick Direct Mode if you can reach the slope, Camera Mode if you are reading it from the ground.
Hold the phone in landscape. In Direct Mode lay the long edge along the fall of the roof; in Camera Mode move the phone until the fixed guide lies along the roof edge.
Wait for the stability indicator, read the pitch, and save the photo.
