Web2Markdown is a Chrome capture extension and a Windows desktop Markdown editor from GDK Digital LLC. It turns a web page, a selection, a site tree, or a sitemap into Markdown files on your disk, opens 125 kinds of text file, and exports finished documents to PDF, DOCX, HTML, or plain text.

A better handoff, without a closed file format.
Use the extension to collect material, the desktop app to write and edit, or both together. Captures stay on disk as readable files. You do not need the desktop app to use captured Markdown in another editor.
Move from collection to creation
Open captures in the desktop Capture Inbox. Edit Markdown or HTML with source and preview, manage multiple tabs and split editor groups, then export without replacing your original.
Reuse a webpage element
Choose Capture Element in Chrome to save a button, card or text block. Import it into the desktop Artifact Library, edit its appearance, preserve the original, and insert or export passive HTML.
Useful beyond the first capture.
The editor is a working environment for documents, not just a place to view a download.

Web2Markdown brings browser capture and local document work together. The Windows editor is a real download today; the public open-source repository and Chrome Web Store listing are still in preparation.
