The public GitHub issue tracker is not available yet. Please use email for support and feedback until the verified repository is linked from the download page. Response times are not guaranteed.

Send a useful, safe bug report

  • The editor and extension versions shown in each component's About or Help screen.
  • Your operating system and Chrome version.
  • The action you took, the result you expected, and what actually happened.
  • Short reproduction steps, including whether the issue happens on a nonsensitive public page.
  • A redacted screenshot or a small sanitized example, if it helps explain the issue.

Diagnostics are available in Settings. Review them before sharing. Remove passwords, API keys, private page content, personal information, and sensitive local paths. Do not send an entire capture folder or .env file by default.

Capture troubleshooting

My capture is not in the chosen folder.

Read the saved destination in the popup. If access to the custom folder was lost, Web2Markdown falls back to Downloads. Choose the folder again in Settings to renew permission for future captures.

The page is missing content.

Wait for the page to finish loading, then preview again. Try Selection for the passage you need. Some dynamic or restricted pages cannot be captured completely. A saved document is not proof that every page element was included.

Images disappeared after moving a file.

Keep the Markdown and its assets folder together. Relative image links depend on their folder layout. Remote-image captures still depend on the original site.

I only want the sitemap.

Choose Sitemap, not Site Tree. Sitemap mode saves the map and inventory without visiting its listed pages. The site must make a readable sitemap available.

Editor and installation troubleshooting

The Inbox does not show my capture.

Confirm the actual output folder, keep the completed capture bundle together, and add its root to the desktop Capture Inbox if needed. You can also open the Markdown directly from disk.

Windows blocks an installer.

Check the official release source and published signing status before proceeding. Work computers may enforce organization policy even for per-user installations. Do not disable your security software or bypass workplace restrictions; ask your IT administrator.

Why is there no Mac download?

The Mac build and native installation checks are planned, not complete. We will not advertise a package until it has been built and verified on macOS.

An export looks different from my preview.

Record the export format and the smallest nonsensitive document that reproduces the difference. Keep your source document and inspect the generated file in its intended viewer.

Report a security concern privately

Email support@gdkdigital.com with the subject "Web2Markdown private security report". Describe the affected component and a safe way to reproduce the issue. Do not include active credentials or private customer captures.

Please do not publish sensitive vulnerability details in a public issue before we have had a chance to review them. No bounty or guaranteed response time is offered here.
